Artist profile - Max Edwards

biog:Max's gigging career spans the last 18 years. His first experience as a paid musician was as a teenager playing guitar & bass in a hard-working ceilidh band.

He later took on the role of guitarist in successful York jazz-funk outfit Mukesh. On moving to Brighton in 1999 he immediately started jamming with Tom Scott, and their musical association has lasted right through to the present day via bands such as Space Bin, Lords Of The Carousel and Off The Waggon, as well as the Jam Central and Brighton Jams events.

Teaming up with Kristian, Tony & co the following year, Max became the lead guitarist in Brighton's then-acclaimed Shifty. They were soon joined by JJ and later by Pete Brown, and it was this lineup that went on to form the early heart of the emerging jamming collective alongside contemporaries Brownstar and Vogue Gyrator.

Max has been recording & producing original music for more than half his life. His other musical interests include DJing.
